ReplyDeletefew issues - n:20KB/s shows but network graph is not showing up on my dell streak 5 (android 2.2.2) please fix it.
Note: I'm on mobile: Docomo EDGE Network India
also want to tell you that it'll be great if the network graph shows like the graph of "network speed" app. (pls download it from market and check it. its free)
again amazing work and wish you good luck
Thanks
Catherine
After today's update it stopped working on my HP touchpad running cm7. I've tried clearing data and also uninstalling and reinstalling.I went back to 2.2.2 using the apk. Is there anything I can do to help you get it fixed?
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great app.
Tested more on Dell streak 5 and a Tegra 2 device.
ReplyDelete1. Dell streak : megahertz is showing.
Tegra 2 device : megahertz not showing (it show -1megahertz)
2. On both device it get disappeared when Market launched and comes back when market is closed.
3. Dell streak 5 : network speed (n: KB/s) & its graph not working along with network traffic's gauge.
Tegra2 device : its working
Hope you'll fix these soon.
Good Luck & New year wishes for you.
Catherine
Catherine, thanks for your detail report.
ReplyDelete1. Unfortunately, CPU Clock feeature availability depends on firmware of specific device. In your case (-1MHz) Cool Tool just cant find specific file where stored CPU frequency data.
2. What did you mean exactly? The panel is disappeared when you start market app? Make sure you did not enable Black List feature. I cannot reproduce this behavior on my device and on the emulator.
3. Same as 1, Not all manufacturers adhere to Google standards when develop their firmwares. I used standard class from Android SDK "TrafficStats" http://developer.android.com/reference/android/net/TrafficStats.html
It should work on all devices since Android 2.2. Try to choose WiFi+Mobile mode from "Network Interface" expandable list. Maybe it should help.
Faberfox, try v3.0.1 from the market. It should help
ReplyDeleteWorking great again, thanks!
ReplyDeletethankyou for your reply, I'll let you know once I test the new version.
ReplyDeleteCatherine
Galaxy tab 8.9, tegra 2, works great! Also on my LG 2x.
ReplyDeleteI like the quick task killer.
Question: of what use is the blacklist feature?
Hoppa
Hoppa, with BlackList you can hide the panel in specific apps
ReplyDeletehow can i disable task killer function ?
ReplyDeleteit's always run every minute.
Task Killer starts only when you perform long tap action on the panel. You can change/disable this behavior in the settings.
ReplyDeleteThx for the quick reply. I assumed the black list was the list of apps NOT being shut down by the task killer.
ReplyDeleteBut this hide option is very nice!
Hoppa
Hi D,
ReplyDeletechecked ver 3.0 & ver 3.01
1.streak 5 & tegra2 :
a) when market is launched display panel just disappear.
b) after enabling wifi+mobile, now data transfer speed chart showing.
2.streak5 :
megahertz showing
tegra2:
its stuck at -1 MHz
thanks & tc
Catherine
Note: I'm using cooltool ver 2.0 & its working great for me :-)
Running it on my Kindle Fire and love it, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love this tool, Thank you for your production
ReplyDeleteI want to save my tuning
set this tool top of the screen
ReplyDeletewhen restart this tool, position is down
Could you better explain the BlackList task killer?
ReplyDeleteMy phone's provider has a considerable amount of 'bloat-ware', that I like the option of shutting down when I want to. As it's running at random times, I've been selecting them, on the BlackList, when found. But after running your task killer and verifying against the currently running apps. I find that the apps. I thought were dead - alive and well...
Is this 'operator error' on my part, or is it that these bloat apps. are just very tenatious and want to live?
BTW
This a spectacular and very clean tool!!!
Thank you
Hi! BlackList feature allow you to hide the floating panel in specific apps. It is not for Task Killer exclusions or so.
ReplyDeletePS: Actually you don't need to kill background processes until you really want it. The system cares about that things automatically.
But if you really really want to kill everything in you system :) try one of the available task killers on Android Market.
ReplyDeleteAlso you may read help section of Cool Tool to better understand the features. I hope my English was not so bad :)

ReplyDeleteCan you add a feature to move a gauges window to opposite side of the screen on press? For example, when surfing internet in fullscreen it might cover some buttons, you press on window - it moves to opposite side, when you're done you press on the window and it goes back.
ReplyDeleteNice app
Keep up the good work.
You can use "ICS Hack" feature, the panel will be transparent for any touch interactions in this mode.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the customisation features!
ReplyDeleteI would like to seet the notifications panel when I drag down from the top wheno ' drag and drop window' is off.
Keep up the good work, and thanks!
Do you think it will be possible to add CPU temp monitoring to this tool?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately Cpu temp sensor presents on a limited number of devices
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, most of the new phones have this sensor. I think this could be a good addition to your already GREAT app.
DeleteI think you mean battery temperature. Because there is no public APIs for read cpu temp value in Android.
DeleteAnd as I know only Motorola Droid have this sensor and values can be retrieved with undocumented "hack"
On my HTC Sensation, using an app called "System Tuner" I can monitor CPU temp.
DeleteI believe if they can do it, so can you! :)
The cpu gauge when enabling multi-core seems wrong. I have seepu+ also running, and when the option is off, their and your values only differ by ~1%, but when enabling it my second core is almost all the time pegged at 100% in cooltool and the value shown on is off by close to 50%. This is on an hp touchpad running the latest cm9 nightly. Do you want me to run some more test or is there a cpu usage widget you trust to compare against? Finally, will you have this as a paid app in the play store soon? I feel dirty using ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the report. Can you help me with diagnostic of this issue? Please run that command in terminal emulator:
Deletecat /proc/stat
and send me resulting screen shot on email.
You can find paid version on Amazon and SamsungApps. I can't upload it to the play due to google regional limitations.
DeleteI've uploaded here 2 captures, with multicore on and off, and the output of cat /proc/stat. http://imgur.com/a/pMJv0
DeleteI'm trying to stay away from 3rd party markets, but if google doesnt allow your country to post paid apps in the near future, I'll get the amazon version.
One last thing, I can't post comments from the android browser as I can't focus the captcha field, I'm having to use chrome beta.
It seems that your system incorrect detects number of cores. Try to load your cpu with some heavy task (like downloading big file) and run cat /proc/stat again. The second core must to be enabled now. You should have something like that:
Deletecpu .....
cpu0 .....
cpu1 .....
If last string with "cpu1" always does not appear, I can't help here. It is something wrong deep in firmware.
Btw, does SeePU app supports multicore cpus correct?
I don't think seecpu supports dual core as it hasn't been update for a long time, still, after running a second terminal just running top, the second cpu kicked in, capture here: http://imgur.com/sejRc
DeleteThanks. Now I will try to implement some hack to fix that issue. Please email me to deviantstudio.software@gmail.com
DeleteAnd I will send you a test version as soon as possible.
Hi Deviant,
ReplyDeleteI would like to know what widget is your tool using to display/paint the information on device?
Thanks
TYPE_SYSTEM_ALERT window. Not a widget.
DeleteGreat app, but why not to add a tab where we can see all the system info, instead of show then hide each one when we need it once.
ReplyDeletealso it would be nice to know who the app that making load, sort apps running by cpu or ram, and kill only that app.
You can find tons of apps on the Play that match your requirements. For example Elixir.
DeleteI meant something like "Usage Timelines" in the market.
Deletewhat the point if I knew something causing the load without knowing which one ?
I already use many system tools, but I was looking for one app (do all daily need) to keep in background when I found yours.
I'm trying to minimize system resources usage, not to increase it with tools.
Love the app. First thing I install on all my devices. Having issue on my galaxy nexus with the new update. Cpu graph and cool tool itself seem frozen and settings dialog frozen when the panel is displayed. You want any logs etc to HELP? Thanks

ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteCool tools not showing over android bar anymore after ASUS upgrade from ICS to JellyBean. TF300. Thanks!
Yes, same problem. CoolTool can't put overlay the status bar in JB. But for ICS, it's OK. Can please enhancement this portion? Thanks for the great app.
ReplyDeleteHi the current guage doesn't work as expected. When discharging it shows 0mA. When charging it shows 1mA. I am using the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105, Jelly Bean, rooted with persus kernel.

Hi Sir,
ReplyDeleteSuggestion.
Show time/date format below,
hh:mm:ss yyyy/mm/dd
Thank you
Vincent
You can do it by edit label's prefix/posfix. Please refer to this document http://developer.android.com/reference/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html
DeleteHow do I display the month (e.g. April or Apr) under the Time/Date label? I had a look at https://developer.android.com/reference/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html which suggested using the parameter "L", but it doesn't work... it only displays an "L".
DeleteYour app is amazing. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteCan you put temperature of cpu in the future?
Thanks again.
alright deviant.
ReplyDeletecooltool is a fantastic app.
just a sugestion tho... i use this app on my phone and nexus7.
could you tweek the cooltool bar to allow the width to match the screen width/res?
sWidth=canvas.getWidth(); //get screen dimentions
sHeight=canvas.getHeight();
i cover the stats bar with cooltool lol.
kaos.99k
Love the new custom label feature. Any chance of making it work with shell command outputs? I.e. cut -c 1-2 'filename' to get a cleaner output?
ReplyDeleteEdit: or similar feature to show 'x' characters. At the moment it shows my core temp as 40000 when its 40 degrees. Just a suggestion :)
Deletethis app is awesome!!!!! but there is something missing, my i request to add battery voltage on the label? :) tnx. more power!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst, this is an excellent app. I want to use them on a UCCW widget, but otherwise not seen on any other screen. I know it's an overlay, there is perhaps still a possibility? I would imagine that it would maybe go with a white list, black is already existing.
ReplyDeleteWish you could consider to provide a network connection type label, such as WIFI, HSPA, UMTS, EDGE, or NO as no connection. Thus user could manage to use mobile data or wifi to connect to Internet. When network connection fails, user could see the connection failure reason. When connection speed response is slow, user may see the reason if using mobile data rather wifi due to wifi connection failure unexpectedly.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to diagnose a problem where my phone gets very slow a couple of days after a reboot. I turned on the I/O gauge and it's showing two gauges. When my phone slows down, the left half of the gauge is at the top and the right half is low. What I/O operations do the two halves of the gauge monitor?
